Eureka

Imagine this scene, you are right in the middle of your chaotic life.. rush home from work, cook dinner , co ordinate between washing machine ,ironing, clean the house, buy groceries catch bits and pieces of the talk show on TV ..when all of a sudden there is a power failure! You are left in darkness and you have absolutely no way of continuing all those hajar things you had to do .. and somehow till power comes back .. they actually seem unimportant!
It was one such scene I experienced last week and I promptly threw open the windows of my living room, plonked myself on the window ledge and gazed out at the stars, the neighbouring buildings, the ever flowing traffic and the shadows of the hills on the horizon. All of a sudden I got this feeling that life just stopped! One minute you are caught in this maddening stream of chores that ‘have’ to be completed and the next minute since they cannot be done there is no urgency to complete them immediately.
I think that’s the funny thing in life you set rules for yourself, sometime stringent ones and you try so hard to live by those rules, some of us killing ourselves in the process! We forgo the things we would love to do, just so that ‘we’ can live up to those rules that we have set for ourselves! What never strikes us is to question these rules or to relax them a little bit!
Nope, that never strikes our mind, but what does sadly is the failure if we don’t live up.. or the fatigue, which comes with trying hard to live up!
Hmm, the ‘bulb’ glows at last!

Diet – A universal turn-off, after bad breath of course!

I have decided to diet again.

The first thing that came to my mind as i wrote the last sentence was the song "Its all coming back to me now" with my mind’s eye picturing flying bowls of morbid looking vegetables and more vegetables if you please .. not to mention steaming pots of funny smelling portions of soup with Celine Dion crooning in the background!

You think its disgusting ? I agree, but then you don’t get to hear people giving you frank opinions about how u look...“Oh did you say 28,” a sweeping look up and down “you are that young ..i dint know !? ”. and all you want to do is stick out your tongue and say, "oh shut up!" What ever happened to the good old days when people gave their opinions only when they were asked!

Ok let me shake aside my wounded pride and get on with the diet before i change my mind!

My diet for the next two weeks:

Breakfast - Cornflakes/ Oats porridge
Mid morning snack - sprouts or a fruit.
Lunch – will keep it very very light but need to eat what’s available in office
Eve snack - Soup
Dinner - 2 chapattis , subzi and a cup of curd.

I am a vegetarian so that helps I guess and need to make an effort to drink pot loads of water.

On the exercise front:

I have joined the dance class 3 days a week.
Add two days of gym to that for which will give me 5 hours of cardio in a week.

Lets see how I cope with that for now.
