I am Sick

This illness affects your mind and its called depression (have been having bouts of this off and on these days).
Symptoms include this feeling that the whole world (including your partner) has interesting things to do on a weekend except you and the feeling that life seems so boring with one week no different from the other.

Ok, Its not like I’ve not been doing anything over the weekend .. Let me see, what did i do yesterday and today?

· Met my college friend and her hubby
· I saw a movie Beija Fry (literally means ‘Brain fry’) and was just that, awesome!
· Attended dance classes
· Slept and ate like a pig

Thats not bad, what more could one ask for on a weekend!

Sigh, you see there is no treatment for this deadly disease...you have to watch silently while it attacks your mind and then chews your brain.Going to get something to eat now,do I recall reading chocolates and fried food if one is depressed .. and on a diet

Walkference anyone?

Imagine walking around Colaba in a virtual park , You arrive at a "virtual gate", which is basically a guy standing outside Oxford Bookstore. He sells you the "delegate pass", for a small fee. The pass has a list of instruction on it that you must follow for the course of the day. The instructions are like a treasure hunt, they ask you to walk in a certain direction, or to a certain venue. Either at the venue, or on the road - you will meet other delegates and exchange information.

Why do they do this you ask? .. apparently the people you meet and information you exchange (you capture discussions via speech balloons mind you..) will lead you closer to your goal, requirement, etc.

“ Each card given to delegates is part of a larger "sorting algorithm" or system designed to match people based on their interests. It happens all the time on websites like Amazon (or AdultFriendFinder, if you like) but invisibly at the back end. Here we are creating a sort of computer out of a crowd of people walking around.”

Sounds like one of those dreams you have after watching late night Sci-Fi movies? that was my reaction too when a friend mentioned that he had been to a walkfrence last weekend.

I am still confused, but i definitely find the concept wacky!

Wouldn’t mind if some one throws more light on this one!

Gas talk..

A discussion with a friend on share markets made me stumble on the term ‘carbon emission trading’. A little bit of googling left me very interested.

“Carbon trading involves the trading of permits to emit carbon dioxide (and other greenhouse gases, calculated in tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent,).It is one of the ways countries can meet their obligations under the Kyoto Protocol to reduce carbon emissions and thereby mitigate global warming.

A country (or group of countries) caps its carbon emissions at a certain level (this is known as cap and trade) and then issues permits to firms and industries that grant the firm the right to emit a stated amount of carbon dioxide over a time period. Firms are then free to trade these credits in a free market. Firms whose emissions exceed the amount of credits they possess will be heavily penalised.

The idea behind carbon trading is that firms that can reduce their emissions at a low cost will do so and then sell their credits on to firms that are unable to easily reduce emissions. A shortage of credits will drive up the price of credits and make it more profitable for firms to engage in carbon reduction. In this way the desired carbon reductions are met at the lowest cost possible to society. ”

Interesting stuff here but is India a part of this Kyoto protocol?

Yes, but funnily exempt from the requirements of the Kyoto Protocol because India and China were not the main contributors to the greenhouse gas emissions during the industrialization period that is believed to be causing today's climate change.

However, critics of Kyoto argue that China, India, and other developing countries will soon be the top contributors to greenhouse gases. Also, without Kyoto restrictions on these countries, industries in developed countries would be driven towards these non-restricted countries, thus there would be no net reduction in carbon.

Life is so complicated right ..but that’s what making it interesting!!

The Wedding i would rather forget!!

Abishek and Aishwarya have finally tied the knot and have moved on in life, my only advice to the media is GET A LIFE!!

I am sick and tired of stories of ‘Abhiash’ ,their so called simple wedding or their yatra to Tirupathi and I think every sane Indian who reads the news paper or watches the television would agree!!

Kiss Aids Publicity (How Punny!)

In a live interview, from Mumbai, with GMTV Shilpa Shetty defended actor Richard Gere for kissing her repeatedly .She said that "he was trying to strike a dance pose from Shall We Dance, his previous movie, and he kind of, just bent over and kissed me on the cheeks dramatically a la Bollywood style" .
She added that one must stand up and appreciate the good work that he has done in India for HIV and Aids awareness and not digress from the larger more serious issue at hand.

Well though I’m not a big fan of Shilpa Shetty I cant help but feel that she has a point. And personally if she and Richard dint have a problem with kissing don’t understand why others should .. but then we cant expect logic here for Yeh Hai India Meri Jaan!!
